While working for a large retailer in an HR training role, I was introduced to the Insights Discovery® system and became an Insights accredited practitioner. I had the opportunity to work with hundreds of people from department managers to group managers. I can quite honestly say that every person that attended an Insights Discovery workshop as part of their development was positively affected by it. It has depth and breadth of information and accuracy of each individual and where their strengths lie, including communication, team values, and where a persons strengths and values lie. I now believe that the Discovery system and coaching, are the most dynamic ways of developing people to attain their full potential. The answers to our success lies within each and every one of us.

After leaving the RAF, I worked on an Entry to Employment (e2e) programme. This involved working with sixteen to eighteen year olds, delivering training in numeracy and literacy. This was a very challenging role. However, it taught me not to judge, it taught me patience and it highlighted that it doesn’t matter what background we come from; we all aspire to do better. We all have dreams. The quiet persistence of dedicated youth workers who worked many more hours than they were paid for, showed me that you never give up on anyone as long is there is a glimmer of hope. I have used all that I learned from this experience to good effect when life coaching.
What is the Insights Discovery® System?
The Discovery® system is receiving recognition from businesses identifying its potential to grow business and retain key staff. How does it work? It works well alongside conventional training. Take staff sales training as an example, this training will take you through the theory required to sell. The Insights Discovery® system highlights where our strengths and areas for development lie, using four colour energies. As the most colour energies a person can have is three that are strengths and all four are required to sell effectively. Everyone can gain from their own personal profile and implement strategies to improve their own performance. The profiles positively cover many areas of peoples lives including management, communication and working with others.
